1.when use the battery for the first-time , does the first three times need to charge for 12 hours?

This is totally unnecessary. Because the notebook computer has a perfect power management circuits and charge management system, when the cells reached saturation, the control circuit will automatically switch to the open circuit state, so charge it fully is ok.

    2. in order to prevent the memory effect, should we run out of power before charging it?

Discharge the battery before each charge is not necessary, but also harmful. As proved: the depth of discharge of the battery will shorten the battery life meaningless, it is recommended when the batteries used in about 10% ,then can be charged up. Of course, there are still 30% when battery power for more , it is not best to be charged, because the memory effect does exist.

    3. should the battery be seized to prevent the repeated charge and discharge when insert the AC ?

The proposed method: the author’s suggestions are the same as the majority of students . In fact, whether laptop uses lithium batteries or NiMH batteries, these batteries have the memory effect, NiMH batteries’ memory effect is obvious, but equally there will be lithium memory effect, but it is smaller than Ni-MH . The argument about lithium batteries don’t have the memory effect , but the exaggerated advertising business irresponsible behavior which is completely misguided. Since then the battery has memory effect, it should be noted when charging the battery, as far as possible run out of charge, but also no need to say must use the computer to automatically shutdown, so no harm in using (because laptop batteries are with charge and discharge secure, laptop auto shutdown has not yet reached the standard battery discharge protection), but you do not feel so tired? In fact less than 3% of the charge in this way, is a good memory effect will certainly be in, than natural wear and tear, it should be nothing. As for the second view, the author is completely disagree, and just said, whether the laptop battery is the Ni-MH or lithium battery, it has a memory effect, so if in this way will greatly shorten the battery life.

    Argument 3:

    How to charge correctly?

View 1: battery power should always be all used up, so that consumption of notebook computers to automatically shut down and charge the battery fully each time.

Point 2: when use the battery , don’t deliberately pay attention, when you want to used the battery, then charge it.

Results: most of the students said, it is unnecessary to use the battery in automatic shutdown and then chargethe , also don’t like the second view, charge the battery optionally. But when the computer prompts further charge the charge the battery .of course, suggest the time can be set by yourself, the default is to 3%.

Therefore, the battery like this, when you do not need to use it, you needn’t pull down, because only when the capacity is less than 95% , the battery will charge. But even so, if you don’t use computers for a long time ,you’d better remove the battery, because the long-running laptop heat generated will cause some damage to the battery. However, some other “little brand” laptop batteries, may not enjoy such treatment, because it did not take the battery inside the protection technology. I like to use a particular brand of notebook computers, if fully charged battery on the top, certainly in the first when using an external power supply charge your energy, because the battery storage, will have wear and tear, can not reach 100%, as long as it is not 100%  , connect power supply charge. When an external power supply connected which is equivalent to charge the battery once, although only a small charge will be a little time. It is proposed that when we use the machine according to their own circumstances, look at the laptop specifications, choose whether to use an external power supply when the battery removed.

  • 26Apr

The proposed method: In fact, whether the battery is removed or not, main conflicts focuse on when using an external power supply whether the battery is charging up or not. Should know that the number of battery charge and discharge directly to the using life, the charge and discharge times set of the general lithium battery is fixed, the charge number are only 400-600 times, specially modified products are 800 times, each time the battery on charge which is a step forward to retirement. The first point is simply afraid that when use the power, the battery will be placed on top to charge, not only to increase the number of charge cycles, and will overcharge. The second view is that a fully charged battery on the computer, when using the external power supply it will not be charged. In fact, both views have their right side, but also have the wrong place. Because it is only the views expressed by individual, not very full, after I investigated, many notebook manufacturers are taking into account the vulnerability of the battery, and the product is added to the battery protection technology, so different from the corresponding brand laptop batteries,Charging protection technology is different, as some big companies do very well in this area, such as: IBM, HP, Toshiba, Compaq, etc.. Which is considered the most thoughtful is IBM, IBM laptop battery discharge condition can be detected, ThinkPad notebook battery power only is less than 95% when the battery is charged automatically. This can play a very good protective effect on the battery, and now many others have followed suit.

    Argument 2:

If disconnect the battery when plug the external power?

Point 1: when Use an external power supply we should remove the battery .

Point 2: When use an external power supply without removing the battery.

Findings: Most students in the use of external power supply, will remove the battery , only a handful of using an external power supply when the battery is placed on top, and this handful of students used several international brands .

  • 22Apr

The proposed method: I agree with the second view, according to available information,it  indicates that activation of battery work should be completed in the factory.the laptop battery with a little power from the factory to avoid damaging the battery form natural wear and tear . Activation of the battery protection circuit should be in no manner, be with their own lithium battery circuit protection circuit, this circuit’s purpose is to avoid excessive battery discharge, the general battery after the full charged, when the light turns off, the battery charge is not into power, then you plug the power plug to charge the battery is useless? The situation from the battery can be seen on the battery has not charged the other to teach you a simple way to determine the battery can be there during charging, when the battery is charging , it will have  the fever phenomenon, after an hour when the battery is full (not pull the plug), you can go try the battery to see if the battery is still hot or not? The result is definitely cold, because the battery is not charging and discharging state certainly does not heat. Notebook vendors suggest that the new factory will charge the battery more than 10 hours. Phrase may be generated for some users a false view of the first author on this view is that notebook makers should take into account some of the new users to use the new battery when not fully grasp the charge technique, simply implement them fully 10 hours, so this should be the business of expediency.

Notebook batteries are expensive “consumables”, so the notebook battery has caused much controversy over on using.

With the increasing popularity of notebooks, the issues on all aspects of laptop computers followed, in various media on the largest number of arguments are the proper use of laptop batteries, some articles said that personal experience in using laptop battery, while others claim expert guidance, with all kinds of stories.

The author is also a regular laptop user, though not an expert, but has many years experience of the notebook , the author through a friend got dozens of students use laptops to enable them to talk about their experiences on the use of laptop batteries, coupled with his little experience, summed up what we provide as a reference, hope it can give you some help.

    Argument 1:

    Activation of the new battery

view 1: a new battery will have more than 3% electricity ,use this battery power, until the laptop shut down, and then use the external power supply charge. Charge time must exceed 12 hours, repeated three times to activate the battery.

Point 2: do not need the battery for 10 hours to activate the battery charging activity discharge in accordance with the normal way of activation.

Findings: The author investigated 24 students laptop users, 18 is the second point of view, but this approach did not charge the battery for future use hurt, of course, rule out damage to the natural factors. The author himself is the case, when the new battery up to two and a half hours of normal use,  two years passed, the status of the battery is still good, still up more than two hours, so he is satisfied.

Dell’s Mini 5 could be destined for T-Mobile if an FCC filing is an indicator. The Android tablet recently passed through the US agency with support for the 1,700MHz band needed for T-Mobile’s 3G network. The normally PC-focused firm had already confirmed a version with AT&T support.

The post hints that Dell is planning as broad a release as possible and isn’t planning any long-term exclusives. Dell is poised to ship the Mini 5 sometime in the summer and should have larger seven- and 10-inch tablets as soon as the end of this year.
