    Xinhua Tokyo March 25 Matsushita Electric Corporation of Japan on the 25th the completion ceremony was held in Osaka, declared the world’s largest Li-ion battery factory completion of a project and will begin production in April.
    The lithium battery plant is Panasonic’s fourth battery factory, located in Osaka, Suminoe, investment 1,000 billion yen (one U.S. dollars approximately ¥ 92), covers an area of nearly 15 million square meters, designed annual production capacity of 600 million batteries, which will be the world’s largest battery plant.

    Works in two phases, this phase of the project completed is a designed annual production capacity of 300 million cells, 2010 fiscal year (from April 2010 to March 2011) plans to produce 120 million batteries. In the future will be based on market demand and adjust the output of the optional opportunity to implement the second phase project.

    Panasonic computers and mobile phones that global demand for lithium batteries will continue to increase, therefore the new plant as the main production base of rechargeable batteries in order to expand market share.
